I've been vegan🅥for almost 8 years now, July 6, 2014, is my Veganversary.
I began my journey eating plant-based initially because I could not justify in my brain and heart loving my pups yet eating other animals. There was a disconnect. I started cruelty-free living shortly after that, hence becoming vegan.
I see the disconnect with others and the disconnect that I had. The term for this is cognitive dissonance.
Cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes. People typically look for consistency in their attitudes and perceptions, so this conflict causes feelings of unease or discomfort.
There are so many amazing resources out there on reasons to eat plant-based. I'm not trying to be an information source for facts and statistics on the benefits for your body when you eat plant-based. There is also a ton of information on being vegan and cruelty-free living. Again, I'm not trying to be an information source for facts and statistics. I will however list some sites that I find credible, helpful, and meaningful to me.
Why, why, why another vegan blog, you ask? My answer is simple, I want you to know how easy it is to feed yourself and/or your family yum vegan food and live a cruelty-free lifestyle if that is what you are looking to do. I typically use ingredients that are easily sourced and mostly everyday products you can find in your local grocery store. This is not a recipe blog, there are plenty of beautiful recipe blogs out there. I'll list some that I use as a resource soon.
Seriously, if I can be vegan, anyone can. I typically avoid things that are difficult, there is a long and arduous story about the reasons for this but, I will not make you suffer through my life up until this point.
Question: How can you tell if someone is vegan? Answer: They tell you again, and again, and again. :)
I love animals, food, babies, and people. Maybe even in that order :)
Give me a chance to help you on your path to a loving way to live in our world while still eating good food and (NOT) pissing off your family with your new way of living, eating, and cooking. Trust me everyone might be resistant but if you are the cook, they will eat what you make. (hopefully)🤞
I am vegan for the animals, but, it also benefits my body.
If you have a question, just ask, I promise I will do my best to answer.
What I don't want to do here is to debate vegan vs carnivore, there is plenty of that out there. This blog was created solely for the support of like-minded people looking to be happy, healthy, and courageous enough to move out of their comfort zone and try something different.
If you are ready, LETS DO THIS! 🅥
Stick with me for recipes that I make for my family they genuinely like, and for products to make our lives easier while still living cruelty-free.
Full disclosure: I L O V E making and eating S O U P . If you have a recipe that you love that is not vegan, we can try to veganize recipes together.
We can do this!
